John Ryan married Mary Browne in January, 1809 in St. Mary's Church, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny. Sponsors were John Browne and Thomas Browne. The record indicates that the priest performing the ceremony had received a "certificate" from John's parish priest, Peter Power, and that the bride's family was from Kilmacow.1
