John O'Dea was born in 1818 in Boherroe in the Parish of Aglishcormick, Annagh, County Limerick. Godparents wereThomas Kinkead and Mary Kinkead. He was the son of Thomas O'Dea and Anne Connell. John O'Dea married Catherine Hayes, daughter of William Hayes and Catherine Glasheen, on January 28, 1845 in Pallasgrean, County Limerick. Thomas Dwyer and Margaret Callaghan were witnesses at the wedding. John O'Dea died on December 23, 1866 in Annagh, County Limerick.
