     John Jeremiah Day was born on December 29, 1883 in Camp Grove, Marshall County, Illinois.1 He was the son of Jeremiah Day and Johanna Ryan. John Jeremiah Day married Carrie Frances Walsh, daughter of James Walsh and Catherine Morris, on February 12, 1908 in St. Mary Church, Greene County, Iowa. Sponsors at the wedding were Peter and Lizzie Garland.2 John Jeremiah Day died on February 22, 1976 in Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa, at age 92.1 He was buried in St. Mary Cemetery, Greene County, Iowa.3
     He witnessed the marriage of Thomas Patrick Garrity and Agnes Day on June 11, 1907 in Greene County, Iowa. Witnesses were Nellie O'Brien and John Day. Tom's address is listed as Letcher, South Dakota.4 John Jeremiah Day was celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 12, 1958 in Grand Junction, Greene County, Iowa.
