     Jeremiah Day was born on December 19, 1856 in Henry, Marshall County, Illinois.1,2 He was the son of Darby Day and Johanna Murnane. Jeremiah Day married Johanna Ryan, daughter of John Ryan and Winnie Ryan, on January 29, 1883 in Camp Grove, Marshall County, Illinois. Standing up for the couple were Matthew and Mary Ryan.3 Jeremiah Day died on April 12, 1932 in Grant Township, Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa, at age 75. He was buried in St. Mary Cemetery, Greene County, Iowa. Casket bearers were LeRoy Garrity, Delos Garrity, Francis Garrity, Earl Day, Leo Day and Cleo Day. The Mass was celebrated by Father Murphy at St. Joseph's Church in Jefferson, Iowa.4
