Honora Keefe

F, b. circa 1800
Honora Keefe was born circa 1800 in Parish of Kildorrey, County Cork.1 She married James Murnane, son of Thomas Murnane and Ellen _____, on September 30, 1822 in County Cork. Witness at the wedding was Thomas Fitzgerald. Note that although the wedding occurred in County Cork, all the children were born in Drmocomogue.2
Honora Keefe witnessed the birth of John Murnane on July 13, 1835 in Emly, County Tipperary. Sponsors for the baptism were Michael Corboy and Nora Keefe.2,3 Honora Keefe immigrated with Patrick Murnane on December 18, 1849 to New York, New York. Listed on the manifest for the Queen of the West along with Patrick's family (Ann, Michael Bridget and Thomas) was a Widow Murnane (aged 54), her son Patrick (aged 20), and Margaret (aged 14). This is Nora Keaffe, widow of James Murnane. We assume that Patrick's other sons, John, Patrick and James, had died before 1849. His daughters, Mary, Ann and Elizabeth, may have died or may have married before 1849.4
