Mother*Margaret Day b. circa 1800, d. November 18, 1855
John Bartley was born on July 7, 1841 in County Limerick. John's godparents were John Dea and Margaret Bartley.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Bartley and Margaret Day. John Bartley died on January 6, 1893 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, at age 51. The funeral book for Mount Auburn Cemetery lists a birth date of John Bartley as 1859. If this is accurate, then the John Bartley buried with Thomas and Margaret cannot be their son. If, on the other hand, there was a transcription error, then possibly this John may be their son after all. It is hard to imagine anyone but a family member being buried in the same grave as Thomas and Margaret.3 He was buried in Catholic Mount Auburn Cemetery, Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3
He immigrated with Thomas Bartley and Margaret Day on August 11, 1849 to Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The Bartley family arrived in Boston on the Sunbeam.4
